Frequently Asked Questions

To ensure your journey goes as smoothly as possible, we have answered the most frequently asked questions on this page regarding the use of motorhomes and caravans, campsites, and traveling with them.

Also, check out our instructional videos and the manuals for the different vehicles!

Motorhomes and caravans do not have washing machines. Most campsites offer laundry facilities, but a local laundromat, for example 24 Pesula, is also a good option.

You can empty the toilet at the designated emptying points on campsites. While traveling, toilet emptying can also be done at Matkaparkki sites, ABC rest stops located all around Finland, and in the north, at Friija Rental.

You can also use Google to find Puskaparkit, where you can search for chemical toilet emptying points.

You can drink Finnish water from the tap in almost everywhere. We suggest you stop in rest stops and stations to fill in your portable water tanks (buyable from grocery stores).

In the absence of tire insurance, the renter is fully responsible for tire changes, repairs, and any resulting damages. With tire insurance which you can buy from us, you will receive a spare tire. The vehicles also come with a repair kit, which can be used if it is sufficient for fixing the tire.

In summer, a fully charged battery typically lasts about a week when staying off-grid. If the motorhome or caravan is equipped with a solar panel, it will quickly recharge the battery.

The vehicles come with the necessary extension cable for use at campsites, as well as a converter adapter. Please remember to fully unwind the cable reel when in use.

In summer use, a gas bottle typically lasts about a week when using the refrigerator, stove, and heating. In winter, heating increases consumption, and an 11 kg gas bottle lasts about three days.

11 kg steel bottle with a side thread valve. We recommend choosing steel bottles with two separate handles, especially for caravans.

In vehicles equipped with a safety device, you can use gas while driving.

It is advisable to cool the refrigerator before the journey. While driving, we recommend using the caravan’s battery as the power source.

In groundwater areas, you should use a container. We recommend this practice at all times, but most people discharge greywater into nature.

In the Nordic countries, you don’t need a separate permit. However, if you’re traveling to other countries, you should obtain an export permit. Vehicles are not allowed to enter Russia or countries outside Europe.

The tow bar must be clean and grease-free when towing the caravan. The squeaking may be due to a new car hook, wear of the tow bar brake pads, or dirt.

Test the functionality of the tow bar’s electrical connections. Clean the hook in advance from dirt and grease. Ensure that you are authorized to tow a vehicle combination according to the total mass.

Our insurance does not cover vandalism.

The caravan rental includes universal mirrors. The mirror is attached to the car’s own mirror. We use the Aero Convex model, which has been found to be effective.

All our caravans have a 13-pin plug. The caravan rental includes, if needed, an adapter from a 7-pin socket to a 13-pin socket.

The caravan comes with a 15-20 m long cable with both a camping connector and an adapter for a household socket.

The caravans do not have an inverter unless specifically mentioned otherwise.

You can find the maximum towing capacity of your car and tow bar in the technical section of the vehicle registration document. Add together the total mass of both the car and the caravan. Also, ensure that your driver’s license is sufficient if the combined total mass exceeds 3500 kg. For more information, visit www.traficom.fi.

The maximum weight for the hitch is usually 75 kg, and loading should be done accordingly to ensure safe towing.

In our vehicles, you can deactivate the passenger-side airbag, and the child seat can be installed. However, there are no Isofix attachments in the vehicles.

Depending on the model, you can also attach the booster seat and the seat to the safety belts of the dinette.

Our rental insurance requires the identification of the renter and driver for us to know to whom we have leased the equipment. The payment system utilizes bank identification and is as secure as possible. We regularly remove personal identification numbers, and if you wish, we can do so immediately once we no longer need your information. If you prefer not to input your details into the booking system, we can bill you separately for the rental fee; in this case, please contact us with additional information.

We disinfect the water tank in the spring with Pura Tank disinfectant. Due to the frequency of rentals, the water is often replaced. We also aim to empty the water tank if the caravan is stationary for a week or longer to ensure fresh water. However, we cannot guarantee where renters have sourced the water from, so we recommend using separate containers for drinking water that can be regularly cleaned or boiling the tank water before consumption.

When driving on a dirt road, two things must be considered. Firstly, the speed must be kept low because rocks can easily fly towards the front of the caravan, potentially damaging lights and spoilers. Secondly, the dust from the dirt road may penetrate the caravan’s interior through the ventilation openings on the bottom, causing dirt inside the caravan. These openings should be sealed, for example, with tape or cardboard cups.

Caravans should not be washed with a pressure washer. Use detergent specifically designed for caravans, avoiding solvents. Car wash detergent meant for cars isn’t suitable for caravan washing as it dissolves the sealants in the structures.

The caravan toilet door should always be open when using the toilet. Otherwise, liquids may seep through the seals into the compartment below the cassette. This also allows you to check the filling level of the tank. Use appropriate flushing agents in the toilet, such as Thetford products. The tank and toilet bowl should be cleaned, emptied, and rinsed before returning.

Towing a caravan is regulated by two factors:

  1. The driving license requirement, which is determined by the maximum permissible (theoretical) total weight of the towing vehicle and the trailer. Maximum permissible trailer mass = information typically found in the towing vehicle’s registration certificate.
  2. You can find more detailed information from the link below. You can rent our caravan off-season for driving practice.
