Frequently asked question on camper vans

So that your trip would go as smooth as possible, and you would be able to plan accordinly, we have collected FAQ on camper vans!

A campervan is a van-sized recreational vehicle that is easy to drive and well-suited for both city use and highway travel.

A motorhome, on the other hand, is larger and offers more space, but can be heavier and less agile to handle.

A campervan is the best choice if you value easy, car-like driving, agility, and lower fuel consumption.

Not necessarily. A campervan equipped with solar panels allows for off-grid travel without a power hookup. Some of our vehicles also have an inverter, which lets you use electrical devices normally. This is especially useful when staying in nature or off-grid locations.

A good campervan should include at least:

  • Solar panels (for off-grid travel)
  • Automatic transmission (for easy driving)
  • Gas or diesel heating (e.g. Webasto) and floor heating (for Finnish conditions)
  • Toilet and shower
  • Kitchen (stove, refrigerator, dishes)

The best models also feature a double floor and good insulation for winter use.

Yes, you can—as long as the vehicle has:

  • efficient diesel heating
  • good insulation
  • possibly a double floor

Many modern campervans, such as Challenger models, are also designed for winter use. However, it’s important to consider any restrictions set by the rental provider.

Winter travel is often more peaceful and offers unique experiences.

Yes. A campervan is roughly the size of a van, making it easy to drive even for first-time users.

An automatic transmission makes driving even more effortless.

Campervans can be driven with a standard Category B driving license.

Most campervans are suitable for:

  • 2 people (best comfort)
  • 3–4 people (more compact arrangement)

For example, the Challenger V217 is well-suited for couples, while the V210 offers more space for equipment. A Cliff model with a pop-up roof bed is an excellent choice for families with children.

An automatic transmission makes driving:

  • easier in traffic
  • more comfortable on long journeys
  • less stressful for beginners

That’s why it has become one of the most sought-after features in campervans today.

Campervan rental typically costs around €100–300 per day, depending on the season, equipment, and model.

Newer and better-equipped vehicles, such as Challenger models, tend to be slightly more expensive but offer greater comfort.

Prices increase significantly during the high season (summer).

A campervan offers a combination of:

  • freedom to move
  • accommodation anywhere
  • cost efficiency

It works both as a way to travel and as a lifestyle.

Most of our vehicles do not automatically allow pets, but exceptions can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

We clearly indicate on each vehicle whether pets and dogs are allowed.

Currently, pets are allowed in the following camper vans:

  • VW Hobby Maxia Van 680 ET
  • Sunlight Cliff 600 AE

All vehicles are thoroughly cleaned after each rental.
